Rektor Noro's datter Faniry har fått diagnosen idiopatisk aplastisk anemi, en svært sjelden og livstruende blodsykdom som gjør at benmargen hennes slutter å produsere nye blodceller. Hun vil ikke overleve uten rask behandling, og har alvorlig risiko for infeksjoner, blødninger og organsvikt.
